    Children ages 18 months and up are invited to join us for an hour of stories, crafts and other fun activities.

  • Wii Fit for All Ages, 2:00 pm, West Wyandotte Library
    Come in and try our new Wii Fit. You can challenge your parents and grandparents to a game of bowling or skiing down the mountain! There are lots of games to try! Lean to block soccer balls, swivel hips to power hoop twirls or balance to hold the perfect yoga pose. As you stand on the Wii Balance Board, included with Wii Fit, your body's overall balance is tied to the game in a way you've never experienced before.

  • Kids a Cookin', 3:30 p.m., Main Library
    Come learn about nutrition and healthy eating with K-State Research and Extension Services. Children learn to make a simple snack and then sample it. Preparing good food together is a wonderful way to spend quality time with your kids. This program is designed for families with children 12 and under.

  • La Hora de los Cuentos / Bilingual Evening Storytime, 6:30 p.m., Argentine Library
    Presentamos cuentos, canciones, juegos y actividades manuales para introducir a sus hijos a la lectura y el lenguaje en una forma divertida. Miercoles a las 6:30 p.m. / Come for an hour of stories, music and crafts. For all ages.

For kids 18 to 36 months and a parent or caregiver! If your child is 3-6 years old ask about our Preschool Storytime.

  • Mock Coretta Scott King Book Awards, 6 pm, Main Library
    Each year, the American Library Association sponsors awards that are given to authors and illustrators whose children's books are honored for their outstanding quality. Bring your children and teens to this special event where they will get the opportunity to be the judges for their own Mock Coretta Scott King Award honoring illustrators whose children's books portray the African-American experience.   • Beaded Bracelets Craft, 6 pm, Turner Community Library
    Make your own beaded bracelets. Ages 8 and up.

  • Marx Madness Movie: Animal Crackers (1930), 6:30 pm, West Wyandotte Library
    The Marx Brothers try to solve the mystery of a stolen painting among the high-society crowd.

  • Black History Month: Kansas and the Great Migration, 6:30 pm, Argentine Library
    Join us for a presentation using family photos and memorabilia to examine one family’s journey to Topeka as part of the great migration. This program is provided by the Kansas Humanities Council, a non profit organization with over 35 years of experience promoting and understanding of the history and ideas that shape our lives and strengthens our sense of community.

    Hey kids! Would you like something to do over spring break? Explore science and nature at the lake with a fun-filled week of specially designed activities for children 7-11 years of age. Class size is limited; pre-registration required one week in advance. All activities are $2 per day per child. Tentative schedule: Monday, March 15-StarLab, Tuesday, March 16-Reptiles and Amphibians, Wednesday, March 17-Habitats, Thursday, March 18-Art and Nature and Friday, March 19-Life Under Water.
