Directions:
1. Blow up balloon all the way. Let a little air escape so that it is easy to tie off. You also do this so that the balloon is not so tight as you twist it. These skinny balloons are too hard to blow up by mouth, so you will need to use a handheld pump that can be purchased at a party supply store. Twists will be referred to as bubbles below. | |
2. The first twist you make will be the handle. Twist the balloon about 5" down from the tie off knot. Twist it around four times and hold. Don't let go or it will come apart. |
3. Now you are ready to make the cross piece of the sword. Make a 3" bubble and hold. Make another 3" bubble and hold. |
4. Twist the two 3 " bubbles that you made together. (Twist together at the last and first twist.) By twisting it to the handle you can now let go of it and are ready to make the second part of the handle. |
5. Make two more 3 " bubbles and hold. |
6. Twist the last bubble around the handle to hold. Then adjust and straighten it up to complete your sword. You may need to practice it a few times to get it just right! If you have problems popping the balloon until you get your technique down, just let out a little more air. |
