Make a Shamrock Chef's Hat

Supplies:
  • Green construction paper
  • 1 sheet white art paper 12" X 18"
  • 1 sheet white art paper 6" X 12"
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Stapler
  • Patterns

Directions:

1. Ask an adult to help you with the measuring and cutting.

2. Glue the smaller sheet to the end of the larger sheet of paper to create a 24 inch long sheet of paper.

3. Measure 3-1/2 inches from the bottom of the sheet and draw a line all the way across the paper.

4. Make marks at 1-1/2 inch intervals across the page.

5. Cut slits along these marks, starting at the top and stopping at the line.

6. Have your adult wrap the paper around your head, adjust the size, and staple to secure.

7. Gather the ends of the strips at the top of the hat and staple to hold. Push down on the top of the hat to make it puff out like a chef's hat.

8. Trace a shamrock on the green construction paper and cut it out. Write your name on the shamrock and glue it to the front of the hat.
