ECO-Meet
2005

Mission: To challenge and inspire an interest, appreciation and
understanding of the natural sciences and the Kansas environment
through interscholastic competition.

Mr. & Mrs. F.L. Schlalge Library at Wyandotte County Lake Park 
hosted the first annual Northeast Regional ECO-Meet

 The Events

 

Focus Test: Mammals
Students first listen and identify sounds from various mammals. This test contains 100 multiple choice questions.

 

General Wildlife Knowledge
Students listen to and identify various sounds in nature. One hour is then given to answer 100 multiple choice questions.

 

Scavenger Hunt
Ready! Set! Go! Teams are given thirty minutes to gather as many natural objects as possible on their scavenger hunt list. Judges then go over the list with each team to give them a team score.


 

Interpretive Event
This portion of the day requires that teams get creative. Each team member is a plant or animal for five minunutes in their student produced skit. They are graded on creativity, character development and plot development.
