The ECO-Meet is a competition based on knowledge of Kansas' wildlife and plants. The Kansas ECO-Meet is geared for students grades 8-12.

The mission of the Kansas ECO-Meet is to "challenge and inspire an interest appreciation and understanding of the natural sciences and the Kansas environment through interscholastic competition."

Participating students are selected in each school by their ECO-Meet coaches. Teams consist of three or four students. They compete in four events:

1.  Scavenger Hunt: Knowledge of Kansas' plants.
2.  Interpretive Event: Five-minute team presentation. Each team member portrays a Kansas plant or animal and must impart specific information about that plant/animal as they interact with each other.
3.  Wildlife Knowledge
4.  "Pull-out" event: The focus for 2005 is Mammals (based loosely) on a college level zoology lab.

In events 3 & 4, students compete both as team members and as individuals.
