Directions: |
| |
|
| 1 |
Glue
two paper plates together and let dry. Two plates
are used to make the puppet sturdier. |
| 2 |
Attach
the two paper fasteners to the plate to form each side
of the mouth of the
puppet. The right side of the plate will be the backside (not the eating
side). |
| 3 |
Attach
the two sides of the rubber band to the two paper fasteners
to form the mouth. It
should be stretched just enough to stay straight and not
droop. |
| 4 |
Use the markers to draw
on a nose and eyes. |
| 5 |
Cut
out a hat from the black construction paper. Click
above for the hat, collar, bow
and face pattern. |
| 6 |
Cut witch hair from the
tissue paper and glue on. |
| 7 |
Cover the paper towel tube
with colorful paper. |
| 8 |
Cut
two-inch long slits across from each other down one end
of the cardboard tube. This
will be the holder for the plate face. |
| 9 |
Cut
a 4-foot length of
yarn. Thread one end of the yarn to the bottom of the rubber band
mouth. Drop both ends of the string down through the tube. Slide
the bottom rim of the plate face into the two slits cut in the
cardboard tube holder. Tie the ends of the string together about
nine inches below the bottom of the tube. |
| 10 |
To
use the puppet, hold on to the tube and pull on the string
to make the mouth
open and close
to "sing". Of course, you get to provide the voice for Witchy-Poo!
